This is the base of the mast, a steel structure around 20 ft in diameter. It's main function is television for the North West plus the 4 national BBC radio networks for Manchester and surrounding areas. Rock FM 97.4,Jazz FM 100.4, Radio Lancs 103.9, Century 105.4 also transmit from here.
